Francesco Coppola, Sicilian by birth, Emilian by adoption, has always been an architect with wide-ranging interests: from architecture to communication, from graphic arts to design. All of this he joins with a highly interdisciplinary attitude that brought him in the course of the years to diversify his activity, which today ranges from urban and private architecture to global communication projects for companies.

Within his most recently projects, the Mercatone Uno Headquarters Tower and two foremost urban upgrading projects: "La Cittą di Toscanella", a residential complex with urban park, and the one entrusted to him by the Town of Castel Guelfo in Bologna.

He has worked as a design and/or brand consultant with some of the leading ceramic companies all over the world and he has founded the International Study and Experimentation Centre on Ceramics in Imola.

In the publishing field, he devised some specific ceramic publications ("Keramos", "Artecotta"), as well as the international ceramic review K-Keramos.

He has also been a design teacher at the ISIA school in Faenza. He has designed a wide range of industrial products such as furniture, lamps, tiles, mosaics and has patented new systems of prefabricated homes and of displays.

This project model oriented towards multidisciplinary activities is the basis of the Loop Design Centre, which he founded in 2002 with the ambitious aim of creating a "hot house" - a sort of creative greenhouse: a design centre but also a place of excellence where architects and designers could meet, compare and share their own projects and professional skills.
